Creflo Dollar's Tithing Revelation: What It Means for the Church

Creflo Dollar's Tithing Revelation: What It Means for the Church

In a world where religion is based on control, Creflo Dollar's recent statement that tithing should not be a requirement in churches opens the door for freedom. You will learn the difference between religion and grace.

"The Gospel of Jesus Christ thrives on grace and freedom. Grace is what God has given through Christ on my behalf. You can't earn it. I can't earn it. People can't earn it. God earn it."

Creflo Dollar, an evangelical preacher in Georgia, recently said that tithing should not be required in churches. This change in perspective has caused quite a stir among religious communities. I personally think this is a great idea. Religion should be about community and not about control. When we start talking about faith and church in terms of grace and freedom, people get afraid that you will push people away from the Church. But all I'm suggesting is that we're moving from one stage of life to the next, and things have changed. Let's embrace the change..the NeXEvolution of Christian faith is here to stay!

In this episode, you will learn the following:
1. Creflo Dollar, a famous evangelical preacher from Georgia, has said that tithing should not be required in churches.
2. Religion versus Grace - the Old Testament was built on the concept of Mosaic Law of consequence, while the New Testament is based on Grace demonstrated by Christ.
3. Church should be a community, not a place that holds people in bondage.

The Driving Idea:

The Old Testament was built on the concept of a Law of consequence. Jesus Christ said it's no longer based on consequence. The New Testament is based on the Covenant of Grace (no consequence.) The Hebrew Bible was written to give a detailed story about a particular people in a particular geographical location for a particular time in Judic history.

The Gospel of Christ is all about freedom. The Old Testament teaching thrives on guilt, punishment, and laws, but the gospel of Jesus Christ thrived on grace and freedom. Church is about community, not about going to church. It's about the concept of community, but it's not a place where you should be held captive. There used to be 75% of people in the United States consider themselves Christian, but that's changing. People are starting to realize there's a difference between church and religion and following Jesus.
