Coach Lee Hopkins is a trans man who has dedicated his life to helping others transition and find acceptance. He is a powerful advocate for the trans community and has worked to create resources and support systems for trans people all over the world.

A trans person moved to California to transition from female to male, but found it difficult to adjust. He was afraid of being rejected by people and so he moved to Chicago. There, he found the right people and the language to put together what he was thinking and feeling. It was the only way he started to make friendships.

[00:00:00] - A trans person moved to California to transition from female to male. But he didn't find it easy. He didn't have anyone to talk to about it. He believes people are shocked when they find out about trans people. He also believes that violence is the way people respond to this information.
[00:02:24] - When he moved to California in his mid-twenties, he didn't tell anybody about his trans identity. He was afraid of being rejected. So he moved again to Chicago. He found the right people and the language to put together what he was thinking and feeling. It was the only way he started to make friendships.
[00:04:59] - Christianity was not a spiritual resource for some people. They didn't have anyone to talk to them about the deep questions they had. They were going through some changes in their own life and coming to an awareness of who they were, what they were feeling and thinking.
